Coo-Coo For Cocofloss: Why Our Dental Hygienists Are Loco For The Coco

Ok so I’m going to be frank with you. I know you don’t floss. You can lie all you want during your cleaning, but I know. Every dentist all over the world knows. It’s the greatest lie ever told, and we hear it every day, constantly. I’m not mad though, it’s ok. But just know that I know… and you know what, part of me even kind of understands…kind of.

But here’s the deal, you have to floss. Honestly. Not only does flossing protect you from gum disease (gingivitis…ugh) and save your life, flossing also saves you from horrible breath and a dirty mouth, which to some might be even more important. Have you ever smelled your floss after you were done? Yeah…it’s not pretty.

So we know you don’t floss, but it’s not too late, and thankfully there’s now better floss out there that’s going to help you get into the swing of things like never before. Here’s a hint of what it’s made out of… what’s the one product that’s all the rage in health and wellness right now? The one fruit that you see everywhere, from oil to water, to milk… that’s right coconuts. Well now you can add floss to the list.

Have you heard of Cocofloss?

It’s a new floss that’s infused with coconut oil. The coconut oil is added to better attract plaque and make your mouth extra clean. It’s like a loofa for your mouth, scrubbing out and soaking up all the bad plaque from between your teeth, leaving your mouth feeling extra clean. The coconut oil takes care of the non-toxic check mark but what about helping you do your part when it comes to saving the planet? Well cocofloss is paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free, and is vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without gluten, so take that! Saving the planet and your mouth at the same time.

Now I know what you’re going to ask… doesn’t it smell and taste terrible? Nope, not even close. Cocofloss has a faint smell of coconuts, and you know what else smells like coconuts? Vacation, that’s what. So now the twice a day you floss, you’ll be transported to a remote, beautiful private beach.

Ok, ok that’s an exaggeration, but the floss does smell good, and it has subtle flavoring in fruit and mint flavors to encourage flossing.
So now I’ve convinced you how awesome cocofloss is, and you’re now a diehard flosser, here are some tips:

You want to floss every time you brush and after every meal.

If that’s too much for you, and you really can only do it twice a day, you want to make sure you floss at least when you brush.
When most people floss they like to keep a tight grip on the floss and move in an up and down motion, directly between the teeth. That’s not exactly the best way to do it. What you want to do is curve your floss like a C and scoop around the tooth. Doing it this way allows you to get the plaque between the teeth, as well as around the teeth. (If you are more of a visual learner watch our full video tutorial on how to C scoop right below!)
