The Way We Work With Your Insurance

Derby Dental works with patients to help them navigate how to work with their insurance providers to ensure they are getting the best care possible.
While we do our best to help our patients with their insurance needs, we can only serve as a middleman. And as much as we’d like to be able to solve problems regarding procedures and coverage, dental insurance is a contract between you, your employer, and your insurance company.
As a courtesy to our patients we try to be as helpful as possible to check eligibility and coverage. However, dental insurance often restricts the information they give us. Because of this, we can only provide you with an estimate of coverage for each visit.

We understand that you have dental insurance and want to use it! At Derby Dental, we file out on your behalf for all PPO dental insurance plans. There are two types of PPO’s: In-network and out-of-network PPO providers.

In Network

At the time of your visit, you pay our office your contracted deductible and coinsurance. The insurance company reimburses our office directly for their portion.

Out of Nework

Don’t worry we STILL ACCEPT your plan and file your insurance claim. The only difference is that you pay our office upfront for your visit. Your insurance company will send you a check a couple weeks following your appointment to cover their portion.

If you don't see your plan listed don't worry, we likely still accept it! Just ask us when you call if you have any questions.

We chose not to be an in-network provider with certain plans due to restrictions and limitations they put on our office, thus limiting our ability to provide the best care possible.

By choosing to stay out-of-network with certain providers, we have the freedom to use the best labs and materials available to us. It also allows us to recommend the best treatment options for our patients. The only difference is who gets the reimbursement check from the insurance, either our office or the patient directly.
Providing the best possible care for our patients will always be our number one concern and we will never compromise this.

Our patients don't need it.

Do you have an HMO? HMO stands for "Health Maintenance Organization."

An HMO gives you access to certain doctors and hospitals within its network. But unlike PPO plans, care under an HMO plan is covered if you see a provider within that HMO's network. By remaining a PPO office we have the ability to see both In and Out of Network patient’s here at Derby Dental.
